Standings through week 2:
Sam: 23-8
Jake:22-9
Johnny: 17-12
THURSDAY
Miami @ Jacksonville 8:20 p.m.
- Jake: Jaguars
- Sam: Jaguars
- Johnny: Jaguars
- Minshew Magic is going to carry into Thursday night. The Dolphins put up a bit more of a fight against the Bills last week than they did against the Pats week 1, but it's not going to work for the short week this week
SUNDAY
San Francisco @ New York (N)
- Jake: 49ers
- Sam: 49ers
- It's a great time to be a 9ers fan. Jets last week, Giants this week, an easy recipe for two wins. VS a more formidable opponent I would be worried about the injuries, but not here and not now.
- Johnny: 49ers
- It's scary that the 49ers have to go back to MetLife after the turf last week took out their QB for around a month, their running back, and lost Nick Bosa and Soloman Thomas for the season.
- They are still going to beat the Giants, the Giants are a mess
Houston @ Pittsburgh
- Jake: Steelers
- Sam: Texans
- Johnny: Texans
- C'mon Watson, CANT go 0-3, although maybe it's good if they do so it gets Bill O'Brien out earlier
Cincinnati @ Philadelphia
Jake: Eagles
For those playing pick'em/survivor this is a MASSIVE trap game. Even though the Eagles are comfortable favorites, the Eagles have looked horrible through their first 2 weeks and there is always a chance that the Burrow magic comes out this week. Nonetheless the Bengals O-Line has been such an embarrassment this season that it has ruined any chance for their talented offensive weapons to do any damage. I'm unconfidently choosing the Eagles this week.
- Sam: Bengals
- Burrow has shown some flashes of greatness these first couple weeks and a matchup Vs the winless Eagles is the perfect time for his first NFL win.
- Johnny: Bengals
- Lucky Carson Wentz, the Andrew Benintendi of the NFL, is facing a subpar Bengals team coming off of a somewhat promising loss. Burrow had quite the night against the Browns on the short week and is going to capitalize on the Eagles struggles for his first NFL W! Also Philly is probably #TankingforTrevor
Tennessee @ Minnesota
- Jake: Titans
- Sam: Titans
- Johnny: Titans
- Cousins misses Diggs too much
Washington @ Cleveland
- Jake: Football Team
- Sam: Football Team
- Can not wait to see Baker getting mauled by the Washington pass rush. 7 sacks and 2 pressure picks?
- Johnny: Browns
- Bake is going to capitalize off of getting better chemistry with his team last Thursday
Las Vegas @ New England
- Jake: Patriots
- Sam: Patriots
Los Angeles (N) @ Buffalo
- Jake: Bills
- Sam: Bills
- Johnny: Bills
- Goff isn't winning this game, he's not good
Chicago @ Atlanta
- Jake: Falcons
I know that Julio Jones is out but the Bears can't keep winning without playing well can they? This HAS to be the week I'm right about picking against Mitch Trubisky.
- Sam: Falcons
- Johnny: Falcons, unless Foles plays
Carolina @ Los Angeles (A) 4:05 p.m.
- Jake: Chargers
- Pick'em/Survivor game of the week. The Chargers looked really good against the Chiefs last week, and even though I'm not a Herbert believer at all, he had a solid game. The Panthers are 0-2 and just lost their best player in CMC. Chargers are the closest thing to a slam dunk in a difficult pick'em week.
- Sam: Chargers
- Was about the pick the Panthers until I was reminded of CMCs injury. I hate Justin Herbert and I REALLY wish I could pick against him, but in this game I just can't
- Johnny: Chargers
- Herbert had a great debut, and now he is playing a lesser team
New York (A) @ Indianapolis 4:05 p.m.
- Jake: Colts
- Sam: Colts
- The Jets had a shot at this one, before they lost most of their receiving attack (Crowder and Perriman) along with one of their best lineman (Fant). Darnold as always won't be given a chance.
- Johnny: Colts
- duh
Tampa Bay @ Denver 4:25 p.m.
- Jake: Bucs
- The Broncos don't have Drew Lock or Courtland Sutton—their two best offensive players—and the Bucs have had another week under their belt to get accustomed to playing together. Easy pick here.
- Sam: Buccaneers
- Johnny: Bucs
- Denver is SHORTHANDED
Dallas @ Seattle 4:25 p.m.
- Jake: Seahawks
- Sam: Seahawks
- Johnny: Seahawks
- Nice try Cowboys
Detroit @ Arizona 4:25 p.m.
- Jake: Cardinals
- Sam: Cardinals
- Johnny: Cardinals
Green Bay @ New Orleans 8:20 p.m.
- Jake: Packers
- The Saints offense looks like an entirely different unit without Michael Thomas: which may put to rest the argument of whether he is the best receiver in the NFL (he is). Aaron Rodgers has been playing like his vintage self since the Packers ownership lit a fire under him with the Jordan Love pick, and I don't expect it to stop here.
- Sam: Saints
- The two best veteran quarterbacks in the league going at it and its going to be incredible to watch. This one truly could go either way but I personally favor Brees over Rodgers and these Saints over these Packers.
- Johnny: Packers
- Very unbiased pick by me. Credit to me for that
MONDAY
Kansas City @ Baltimore 8:15 p.m.
- Jake: Ravens
- The Ravens have been steamrolling their competition this year, and after a mediocre performance for the Chiefs against a middling Chargers team last week, the Ravens have all the momentum here. This will be a fantastic game, and two weeks ago I would've 100% picked the Chiefs, but the Ravens are hot, and Lamar Jackson is putting up an early bid for back to back MVPs.
- Sam: Chiefs
- Without a doubt this is the best game of the season so far and I can't wait to watch it. Somebody did a GREAT job scheduling the primetime games this week. As great as Lamar is, pass first quarterbacks will always be my favorite and I can't wait to see Mahomes hang 350 and 4 TDs.
- Johnny: Chiefs
- Mahomes > Lamar
