I've been wanting to do this for a long time. After finally getting around to it, I realized most people won't care too much about the middle of the pack, so I'm going to give you my top 10 and bottom 5 teams in the league.
With expanded playoffs this year, I realize that will be leaving 4 postseason teams out. When it comes down to it, if a team isn't in the top 10 now I doubt they'll win the Super Bowl anyways.
Top 10
1) Seattle
- You can't take the defending champs out of the top spot until they do it themselves, and the Chiefs performance against the Bills doesn't put them back there yet because 1st half MVP Russel Wilson is leading the clear team to beat in the league right now
2) Kansas City
- Yeah, yeah, it was raining on the road in Buffalo. Guess what? It's could rain in the playoffs too against Big Ben who would put a lot more points up than Josh Allen. Chiefs Nation better hope they are at Arrowhead instead of Heinz Field if they match up against the Steel Curtain in January.
3) Tampa Bay
- It's pretty much a tossup between the Steelers and Bucs, the difference? TB12
4) Pittsburgh
- Same as above
5) Tennessee
- Mike Vrabel has his spot in the conversation of one of the best coaches in the NFL. The question is: can Derrick Henry keep up with the Chiefs or Steelers offense? If Henry is taken away, Tannehill's job becomes much harder. We'll see how it works out this week when they host the Steelers.
6) Baltimore
- Baltimore hasn't played anyone great besides the Chiefs who tossed them around. They are heading into a bye which gives them plenty of time to prepare for their first of two November matchups against the rival Steelers
7) Green Bay
- LOL, they have the weapons to be better than the Pats, but the Pats have the D to probably stop ARodg and make him look sillier than the Bucs made him look on Sunday. Goat? Seriously? Give me a break.
8) New England
- I think they have the potential to be better than this given their performances against Seattle (1) and Kansas City (2), but they haven't practiced in a couple weeks and there just isn't enough of a sample size to put them any higher. They have a tough test this week against the 49ers and will show the league who they really are.
9) Chicago
- Nick Foles. He can get it done. He's the right QB for the job, let's see if he can make a little run and end some seasons.
10) Buffalo
- What a phony start. McDermott, Allen, and the Bills fooled us all. Allen went from completing 70% of his passes to not being able to complete a pass unless Diggs fooled his CB into thinking the play is over. Their D isn't a pretender like their O, but that's not enough to put them higher on this week's rankings
Bottom 5
28) Philadelphia
- Lucky Carson Wentz is the Andrew Benintendi of the NFL. I'm still waiting for him to come around. You aren't going to convince me with his garbage time points against an overhyped Ravens team. 1-4-1.
29) Dallas
- I thought Dalton would do a little better given the weapons he has. Spoiler: he didn't. The other side of the ball is so much worse.
30) Washington
- Nameless. Quarterbackless 2 seasons after drafting a 1st rounder. I feel bad for Riverboat Ron, this organization is a mess.
31) New York (N)
- They aren't last because they have a W. This is another team without a quarterback, and you can't really blame Rookie HC Joe Judge, unless you want to knock him for hiring Jason Garrett.
32) New York (A)
- I'm not sure what qualifications Adam Gase has to be a NFL HC. The sad thing is: Jets fans agree with me. It's probably time to set Darnold free, but you have failed him so much that you can't get anything for him, just like you couldn't even get a 7th rounder for Le'Veon Bell.
Thanks for checking this out! Stay tuned next week for updated rankings!
